Who needs to be involved?
GOV.UK describes signing in front of two witnesses aged 18 or over and having those witnesses sign in your presence. Its guidance also addresses witnesses who receive gifts, and their married or civil partners.
Do not assume the executor, guardian or beneficiary must sign because they are named in the will. These are different roles. Check the people and arrangements against the official guidance before fixing a time.
Resolve the draft before the appointment
Review all names and decisions, any missing information and any AI review findings. If the document is not the version you intend to use, stop and resolve that first.
If anyone needs help reading or signing, or there is uncertainty about capacity or pressure, arrange professional assistance. A checklist cannot verify these circumstances.
